Stories from CinéDOC-Tbilisi!
Last week, a big Doc Lounge delegation (Doc Lounge Stockholm, Doc Lounge Turku, Doc Lounge Trondheim + Doc Loung HQ) was visiting Tbilisi, Georgia as a part of our exchange collaboration between Doc Lounge, Noosfera Foundation and documentary film festival CinéDOC-Tbilisi. We had so much fun during the 2-day training workshop in audience engagement, events and marketing. Best of all was meeting and exchanging experiences with regional film coordinators in Georgia and the Caucasus region. Here is what our project managers had to say about the experience:
"Through the workshop I learned new ways of screening documentary film on different locations and how helpful it can be to collaborate with local networks. Besides that I realised that even thought we live in different countries, cultures and environments, we share the same motivation to screen documentary films and that motivation can make anything possible."
- Roos Hekkens, Doc Lounge Turku
"It was a great privilege for Doc Lounge Trondheim to participate in the CinéDOC Tbilisi workshop for regional coordinators. /.../I believe that the Doc Lounges in Stockholm, Turku and Trondheim have gained essential knowledge and experience through this journey to further claim our position as one of the most important outlets for quality documentary work in our home countries."
- Svein Inge Sæther, Doc Lounge Trondheim
"The greatest experience of these days was of course to take part in training workshop for regional film coordinators in Georgia and the Caucasus region. To meet the trainees and share experiences and developing opportunities for screening with other passionate documentary lovers, was amazing. These days have given me a lot in terms of understanding of differences and similarities in the challenges we, who screen documentaries, face./.../ By the way Tbilisi is the most wounderful city with the best food and welcoming people, go there if not sooner than CinéDOC 2018!
- Fina Sundqvist, Doc Lounge Stockholm
Sounds great, right!? Read their full statements at the project website!
We want to thank everyone involved in making this happen, especially Ilja Stenberg, our co-worker in this project and Doc Lounge Stockholm project manager, who's been organising the workshop while working at CinéDOC-Tbilisi.
